Hopefully, you’ve seen the video of the amazing game drive I had at Imire! Missed it? Fear not, you can watch it right here!
Imire is just under two hours away from Harare, in the Wedza district. The road there is well marked and is in good condition. They are doing fantastic work in the conservation of animals, particularly the endangered rhino species! By visiting them, you will not only have a great experience, but will also be supporting them to ensure that they can continue the great work they are doing.
If you’d like to do a day’s game drive, it will cost $65 for adults and $30(5-12 years) for children. Infants (below 5 years) can enter for free. This includes teas on arrival, a morning game drive, lunch (did you see that food in the video!) and an afternoon game drive. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and will ensure that you have an amazing and informative trip. You also have the option of staying overnight, which will cost $150 for adults and $65 for children. If you opt for this, you will go for a sundowner, with complementary snacks, in addition to the one-day game drive’s activities. You will also have dinner included, and can stay in one of their tastefully decorated lodges. Please note that all beverages are not included and can be settled seperately at the end of your trip.
It can get a bit chilly, so make sure you pack a jacket, just in case. You’ll also need sunscreen as you’ll be sitting in an open truck for most of the day. And ofcourse, don’t forget your camera! There are so many great photo opportunities!
